The counter-proposal wants to establish a politically composed committee that until 2030 continuously works on monitoring Agenda 2030. The plan wants to cut back on public overhead: unnecessary spending shall be scaled down, agencies merged, and waste stopped, and welfare prioritized over political prestige projects. A new permanent committee for a global agenda is thus the opposite of the plan's prioritization of Swedish interests and citizen benefit.
