Rejection of the proposition

The election manifesto establishes that the right to seek asylum can never be compromised and demands that only permanent residence permits be issued when asylum is granted, and calls today's policy of temporary and conditional permits a form of psychological violence. The party programme requires that those seeking asylum are guaranteed individual and legally secure examination and that the criteria should lead to fewer people living in legal vulnerability, which is exactly the counter-proposal's objection to examination being cut and the shadow society growing. The plan therefore stands behind the demand for rejection.

The election manifesto's overarching migration commitment is that policy has been tightened and that this line holds firm, and that labour migration shall be limited. The counter-proposal requires in practice that the proposition be rejected, thus that current limitation rules and the fee structure are maintained, which goes against that line. The party programme's requirement for generous but regulated immigration and a safe haven speaks for legal certainty in assessment but does not cancel out the tightening line.

The plan commits to defending the right to asylum and strengthening legal security in the asylum process, and wants a Sweden where no one is forced to live as undocumented. Rules that close the possibility of new review for those who cannot leave the country move in the opposite direction and risk building up the shadow society. The plan thus supports the counter-proposal's requirement for continued review possibility and strengthened legal security instead of restricted review.

The party programme binds the party to open borders and a generous and humane refugee and immigration policy, and to asylum being a human right. Tightened limitation rules that close the way to new review, and an abolished possibility to track, pull in the opposite direction from the commitment that the labour market should be opened instead of borders. The plan therefore supports the rejection requirement.

The plan takes no explicit position on what the committee actually decided — often because the committee's reason was procedural. The stance is derived and fully cited, but it does not show the party broke a commitment.

The election manifesto, which carries the greatest weight, states that those with asylum grounds shall stay and those without grounds leave the country, that more awaiting deportation shall be held in detention and that legislation shall align with other EU countries'. Rejecting the bill would preserve an arrangement where those avoiding implementation could obtain a new examination. The plan's requirement for legally secure asylum review speaks partly in the opposite direction, which lowers the level of confidence.

The counter-proposal demands in substance that tightened limitation rules and abolished trace-back are stopped, that is to say a looser arrangement than the one the plan advocates. The plan explicitly commits to eliminating the possibility of track change and establishes that the person who has received a rejection of their asylum application should leave the country as soon as possible. The counter-proposal, on the other hand, wants to retain the track change and expand the possibility of a new assessment for those who evade. The plan also states that asylum legislation should be at the minimum level of EU law and that a no is always a no. The demand is rejected.
