The plan establishes that the labour market is gender-segregated with worse pay and conditions in female-dominated professions, that more women work part-time and that Sweden has the Nordic region's highest share of poor pensioners, mostly women. The party programme states that the gender power order gives women lower incomes and that women and men must have equal rights to their own provision; the election manifesto notes that especially women have too low pensions after a full working life.
