The plan is based on the premise that women's unpaid care work undermines their economic independence and that paid work is crucial for feminist progress. The counter-proposal's demand that the effects of integration measures be monitored from a gender equality perspective targets precisely that pattern among foreign-born women. The plan itself points out that particularly foreign-born women are economically unequal to men and that the majority of women from the major asylum countries have very little income from own work. It wants to prevent women in large families from being stuck at home and pay maintenance support to the woman. Following up integration efforts' effects from an equality perspective addresses exactly the problem the plan describes.
