The party programme wants asylum criteria to lead to fewer people living in legal precarity and that authorities meet all people with the same respect. An information duty that makes welfare professions into informants drives, on the contrary, the undocumented deeper into precarity, which the plan explicitly sees as harmful and as something capital profits from. The counter-proposal's rejection of the information duty is therefore in line with the plan.

The party programme establishes that welfare employees' freedom of expression and whistleblowing may not be restricted, and the election manifesto that welfare becomes weaker when staff lack the conditions to do their job. A reporting requirement that forces teachers, healthcare staff and social workers to act against their professional ethics undermines precisely this. The strict migration line in the election manifesto is about permits and volumes, not about making welfare staff into control agents.

The party programme states that life as undocumented must never be a life without legal rights, that undocumented and asylum seekers have the right to care and that Sweden shall be a refuge. An information duty that forces healthcare workers, teachers and social secretaries to report undocumented persons cuts off exactly the contact points the plan wants to guarantee. The plan therefore supports the counter-proposal's rejection of the reporting law.
